Getting to the Island
Several airlines fly into Lihue. We recommend using flight comparison sites, such as Kayak or Google Flights, to set price alerts and find the best option for you.

Where to Stay
It takes about 25 minutes to drive from Lihue airport to Poipu. You'll be close to several beaches (and fantastic snorkeling), great shopping and restaurants, and diverse housing options.
We recommend vacation rentals, which are typically more economical than hotels. Here are some sites to use to find housing options.
Getting around the Island
We highly recommend getting a vehicle so that you can see the beautiful, varied landscapes and sites of Kauai. There aren't Ubers or many taxis, so you or someone in your party should definitely rent a vehicle.
